For project one I intend to research topics that are of great issue not only to me, but those around me. Todays world is filled with issues that are typically pushed aside or buried in the next large media scandal. I intend to delve deeper into those forgotten issues. 1. Youtube was once a platform that allowed for any individual to spread content, however recent events within the community have shown a clear line of favoritism. While someone like Logan Paul, a straight white man, is permitted to have a video of a dead body on trending without being given an immediate strike, those speaking about trans rights will be flagged. 2. In media women have been continually misrepresented, allowing sexism to become a social norm in todays day in age. Listening to our president perpetuate this sexism has normalized it to an even broader audience. 3. Depression amongst teenagers is generally something that is seen as taboo to touch upon in mass media. Those who are willing to explore the topic are met with immense backlash, this once again pushes the issue into the shadows. Reaction
